This sweet fur boy needs help with an unexpected vet bill, Facebook reported February 18.
Orangello is a beautiful 18-month-old orange and white boy who was adopted through a rescue by Shelly Brock. She fell in love with him on site, and has devoted her life to giving Orangello a forever home.
A few nights ago, Orangello became sick, and Shelly had to rush him to an emergency vet. This poor baby was screaming and howling in pain, and the vet had to keep him overnight. Orangello was given fluids and a catheter, and was diagnosed with a blocked urethra.
Orangello is now at his regular vet, where he must to remain until Thursday for continued medication and to allow the inflammation to subside. His catheter can't be removed until his condition improves. His total care will run near $700 after both vets are paid.
Not only will Shelly have to deal with the vet bill, Orangello will have to go on an expensive special diet to prevent a recurrence.
Shelly is well known in the rescue world in upstate South Carolina. She's administrator over the Pets Lost and Found of Upstate SC, where she devotes a good bit of her time helping reunite lost dogs and cats (and an occasional bird) with their owners. Not only is she an animal advocate, Shelly works as a firefighter, and is also a single parent to three children.
A GoFundMe donation webpage has been set up here. Please donate if you can, and share her story with others. Every dollar helps, and any over payment can be used for the expensive food Orangello will need to remain healthy.
