Clevelanders can get the chance to experience the skills of an Olympic ice carver and his crew (from Elegant Ice Creations) and the beauty of more than 25 of their creations at the 9th annual Mohican WinterFest being held on Friday, January 10 and Saturday, January 11 and also enjoy a special winter hike on Sunday, January 12 in Loudonville, Ohio. Loudonville is 83 miles from Cleveland and it is approximately a 1.5 hour drive .
Mohican WinterFest While a lot of the events of WinterFest will be occurring at Central Park, the ice carvings will also be displayed throughout downtown Loudonville on Main Street. Olympic ice carver Aaron Costic has been a multiple winner at Fairbanks, Alaska' s World Ice Championships.
Among the activities offered at the Mohican WinterFest are ice carving demonstrations, horse-drawn carriage rides and a chance for kids to see their autographs in ice.
The Festival also features a Train Expo being held at the Loudonville Fair Event Center located on N. Water St. The Expo will showcase an area model railroader enthusiast's personal train collection. For those active people who enjoy nature, there will be a free winter hike (5K and 10K) at nearby Mohican State Park along the picturesque Clear Fork Gorge starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 12. A warm fire and free hot soup, cookies and drinks await after the hike. All skill levels of walkers are welcome. Be sure to dress appropriately for existing weather conditions.

Hours for the Mohican WinterFest are 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday.
