'Beautiful Creatures' release date moved to Valentine's Day

After previous shuffling, Warner Brothers has moved the release date for Beautiful Creatures from February 13th to Valentine's Day, February 14th. The movie adaptation of Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl's best-selling novel will now compete head-to-head with other V-Day releases like A Good Day To Die Hard, Escape From Planet Earth, and Safe Haven.

Deadline was first to report the date change on Monday. Beautiful Creatures was originally set for theatrical release on February 1st, before being moved to the 15th and then the 13th. This marks the fourth release date change in the last several months.

Beautiful Creatures has been generating media buzz as one of several movie adaptations based on popular young adult novels coming out this year. Others include City of Bones in August and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in November.

With the end of The Twilight Saga and last year's success of The Hunger Games, many media analysts are looking to see if the YA trend will continue to be a boost for the box office.
