When a book is adapted into a movie there are always things that get cut or changed to make the book better for the film but the adaptation for Beautiful Creatures got a horrible reception from it fans. With the book being over 400 pages many fans felt that the movie version of book number 1 barely scraped the surface of the story.
The basic plot summary of the movie is a young man is drawn to a mysterious young girl who moves to his small town and stumbles on a crypt of her family secrets in this adaptation of Kami Carcia and Margaret Stohl's series of novels.
In the movie there was a lack of character development and the storyline progressed way to quickly give the fact that the run time of the movie was two hours long. This quick progressing storyline was confusing to fans because they did not get a chance to understand the relationships with the characters.
Also, many fans felt that there was little to no romantic chemistry between Lena and Ethan. They are supposed to have such a strong emotional connection that they have dreamt about each other even before meeting each other and they are supposed to even be able to telepathically talk to each other. This movie basically introduced the characters to each other, and then suddenly they love each other.
All go see the movie if you have not read the books. If you have read the books you be disappointed.
