Beau Bennett to represent Penguins in AHL All-Star game

Mere hours after getting the news that he wouldn’t be on the Pittsburgh Penguins opening night roster, Beau Bennett was given some brighter news. Bennett was informed that he will be going to Providence, Rhode Island to represent the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL All-Star game.

Bennett was selected to be a member of the Eastern Conference All-Stars, coached by first-year head coach Luke Richardson of the Binghamton Senators and Jon Cooper of the Syracuse Crunch. The rookie forward leads the Penguins in points with twenty-four and sits fourth on the team in goals with six. The team will be captained by Trent Whitfield of the Providence Bruins.

The all-star festivities will take place January 27-28, and will be hosted by the Providence Bruins. Full rosters for both teams can be found here.
