Beatles 'Yellow Submarine' items sell big at auction

Beatles "Yellow Submarine" items were some of the biggest draws to buyers earlier this week at a music memorabilia sale at Hake's Auctions. 

A promotional display designed to hold copies of the Beatles' "Yellow Submarine" album sold for $2,778. A set of four individual "Yellow Submarine" character banks sold for $3,214, a "Yellow Submarine" Corgi toy went for $476, while a pair of posters for the movie from the U.S. and Argentina sold for $697. A "Yellow Submarine" sealed model kit sold for $463, while a pair of "Yellow Submarine" puzzles sold for $443.
 
Other sales included a Beatles 1964 school bag for $885, tickets to the Beatles Washington, D.C. and Cleveland 1966  concerts for $237 and $278, respectively, and a display with Richard Avedon Beatles posters for $697. 
 
Other highlights of items sold include a rare Elvis Presley RCA promotional record set for $2,222, a collection of unreleased Elvis photos for $862 and a signed Rolling Stones press photo for $2,530.
