Beatles 'Rock 'n' Roll Music' would sound great if it was remastered

When the announcement of the Red and Blue remastered albums came out, in the back of our minds, we were thinking we wished they had gone with "Rock 'n' Roll Music," which, despite its flaws, isn't a bad compilation.

So we went ahead and gave ourselves a little present. We put together a homemade CD of "Rock 'n' Roll Music" using all remastered tracks.

And you know what? It sounds incredible. "Twist and Shout" hits you like a jet takeoff when the disc starts. "I Saw Her Standing There" keeps up the energy.

We didn't change the original lineup, though how you can call an album "Rock 'n' Roll Music" and leave out "She Loves You" is a bit bewildering.

This is an album that needs to come out remastered. Maybe it should have come this year.

I agree. After all most of the group's rock classics are showcased. As for those tunes left off, certainly a case could also be made for the likes of "Day Tripper" and "Paperback Writer", among others. It really could be reissued easily as a triple- album set. The only gripe I have is the cover. Like Lennon said, he could have done a better one.

good idea, if they want to market (or remarket) different compilations, this would be a good one.

Probably would get the Anthology albums remastered before that. If they did do "Rock N Roll Music" though, please change the cover! John hated it

I hated it, starting with the packaging. And they left off "Day Tripper!!!???" And if they released it now, the "Twist and Shout" version would be in stereo with the voices panned extremely to the right and all the instruments way to the left. It's lost its power. The first two albums in stereo sound terrible. You could drive a truck through the center of all the songs. Please don't release it!

It was my understanding, although probably wrong, that George Martin remixed many of the songs for this compilation for this record so as to sound more "up to date". If this is correct, for that reason alone, the original master tapes should be remastered and issued.

While I've always loved this compilation, releasing this would be a ripoff to fans. Quite frankly I'm surprised the Red andf Blue albums are being released on CD again, remastered or not.

I'll make my own RnR compilation on my iTunes.
