The new video is set at Shea Stadium. (Photo courtesy Harmonix/MTV Games.)
Just released for members of "The Beatles: Rock Band" preorder club is a new video.
It's "Ticket To Ride," set entirely at Shea Stadium. The audio for the song is the studio track, not the live version they played in 1965 on the Shea Stadium TV special. The song, however, features screams and applause dubbed in.
Two other noticeable differences: Paul counts "1, 2, 3, 4" to begin the song, which is different from the way it was introduced on the Shea Stadium TV special. There he did a longer introduction telling the audience the song was their last number one record ("the one before this," he says hoarsely). Also, the music stops cold after the fourth "My baby don't care" with no fadeout.
Other new items for preorder club members this week are a set of buddy icons and a wallpaper download.

Hi!
I wonder whether all fans are really interested in this game. To me, it is just mere rip off and an absolute lack of respect to Beatles supporters. Do they expect us to spend hundreds of dollars/pounds/euros on the remastered collections (I will) + this silly billy computer game, which requires more hundreds of dollars/pounds/euros (I won't)?
I've been a fan all of my life (I'm 40) and to me Rock Band is just some stupidity which is at the same level as some Yoko Ono maneuvres, such as Acoustic or the umpteenth rerelease of Live Peace In Toronto.
The Beatles should release Let It Be, and a collection of clips. and... and...
I suggest that if what they want is to launch nonsensical merchandising (Rock Band to me it is), they should go for the Cartoons. At least, they'll be cheaper and will probably give a different perspective of the Beatles phenomenon (what does Rock Band contribute?).
I will buy the CDs, because The Beatles' work will be there.
Thanks a lot for your attentio
Hey,
Completely agree with Ricardo; all this video game stuff is just a cheap techno gimmick. The real deal is the music they made, period; the remasters are going to be great.
Hey Ricardo Gil. It's worse than that. If you listen to the videos for "Birthday" and "Sgt. Pepper" and "Revolution" you'll hear things in the mix you WON'T hear in the remasters. I mistakenly thought, upon hearing "Birthday" recently, "wow, these remasters are going to be great! LISTEN TO THIS!" Then I find out, no, this was a special remix for the BLOODY VIDEO GAME. And by re-mix, I don't mean they added or subtracted things from the master tapes. I mean, they brought up certain things (like the hand claps...to GREAT effect) to enhance the feel of the song. I thought it was terrific. But, I'm not buying ROCK BAND to get a few re-mixed, sonic improvements.
I am hoping the remasters are worth it. But, that hope is fading more and more, with each article I read. I guess the proof will be in the pudding on 9-9-09.
This game is going to be awesome people!!!
The remasters and the game are two separate products. The mixes for the game (and for "Love," also) aren't what's being done for the remasters. So to connect the two is erroneous and only confuses things. "Rock Band" is a techno thing. It's directed basically at users younger than myself, but you shouldn't dismiss it outright even if you don't agree with it. It's a product of current technology and just because it wasn't conceivable in 1964 doesn't make it irrelevant. For a lot of fans, this game is huge. The Beatles aren't the only ones mining this well.
This game is gonna be awesome! I cant wait to see the full setlist!
This is gonna be one of the only games my whole family will play together, cause all of us love the beatles!
LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE THISSSSSSSSSSSSS
There were always be gripers. Beatles fans opposed to this game: you are in the minority.
