Beatles friends and associates to make appearances at upcoming fan conventions

Two upcoming conventions will feature an assortment of Beatle friends and familiar names. 

First, there's the Come Together Mega Music Fest, which takes place 7:30 p.m. to midnight Nov. 20 at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel, 1657 Worchester Road, Framingham, Mass. The guest list will include Rick Derringer of the McCoys, who was on the most recent Ringo Starr All-Starr Band tour; Billy J. Kramer ("Little Children," "Do You Want to Know a Secret"), Gary Lewis, founder of Gary Lewis and the Playboys and son of comedian Jerry Lewis; Peter Tork of the Monkees and Shoe Suede Blues; Hilton Valentine of the Animals; Ron Dante of the Archies (“Sugar, Sugar”) and Frank Stallone. The show will feature several Beatles tribute bands, plus Loose Salute paying tribute to the works of Michael Nesmith. The show will also feature a special John Lennon Beatles tribute concert. The following weekend is BeatEXPO 2010, which will be Nov. 27 (8 p.m. pre-show concert) and Nov. 28 (noon to 8 p.m.) at the Holiday Inn, 700 E. Main St., Stamford, Conn. Guests will include former Wings member Denny Laine, Tommy Roe ("Sheila"), Abbey Road engineer Richard Langham, Gary Van Sycoc of Elephant's Memory, singer Julie Grant, dancer Lada Edmunds Jr. from "Hullabaloo," Jama Sultan, Hendrix percussionist from the Woodstock music festival, Beatles artist Shannon, promoter Sid Bernstein and Lennon recording engineer Dennis Ferrante. The show will feature authors Jude Southerland Kessler ("Shivering Inside"), David Bedford ("Liddypool"), Kevin Roach ("The McCartneys: In the Town Where They Were Born"), Judith Furedi ("John Lennon: In Their Own Write") and John Borack ("John Lennon: Life Is What Happens - Music, Memories and Memorabilia."). The show will also feature Beatles and McCartney tribute bands and the new England premiere of the film "Let Him Be." Advance tickets are $15.75 per day or $30 for VIP early bird admisson on Sunday.
