Bob Gannon, whose reports and pictures on the Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr shows have been so enjoyable, sent us some comments and pictures of the special Lincoln Memorial sing-a-long held Thursday night. (Thanks, Bob!)
From Bob:
"A special event was cleared for fans wanting to take a late night Magical Mystery Tour. They got a permit to have a sing-a-long on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial with approximately 75-100 fans joining in to celebrate the life and upcoming birthday of John Lennon.
"The sing-a-long took place between 10:45 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. and was a very peaceful event. The highlighted songs were "Give Peace a Chance", "Imagine" and "All You Need Is Love," but after that they continued to sing on while overlooking the reflecting pool and the Washington Monument.
"We then loaded the buses and did a late night tour of the White House and a few of the other
monuments."
You can see pictures in the slideshow below. We'll have a further report from Bob on the first day of Abbey Road on the River coming soon.
