Beatles fans brave rain to celebrate George Harrison's birthday in Hollywood

The weather was wet in Los Angeles Friday night, but that didn't stop George Harrison fans from joining at his Hollywood Walk of Fame star for a 68th birthday tribute to the late Beatle.

Organizer Jerry Rubin told us, "About two dozen George Harrison fans braved the rain to celebrate his 68th. Everyone had a fantastic time. We have a few pictures of the event in the slideshow. Thanks to TheresaZphotography for the photos. You can see more pictures on her blog.

Well, here came the rain- not the sun, but all twenty or so of us came out for George's birthday. Huddled in the alcove outside Capitol Records, we kept warm by singing George's songs and sharing poetry and thoughts. Since George was also an avid gardener, I thought it appropriate to choose the cover of "All Things Must Pass" for the cake.Everyone seemed to enjoy it, too!
As a spiritual beacon for the Beatles, we will always remember George in his music, keen sense of humor, and humanitariansm.
    Happy Birthday, George!
