Beatles fan wants to give your birthday greetings to Ringo Starr

Want to help say happy 74th birthday to Ringo Starr on July 7 if you can't make it to Los Angeles for the special event at Capitol Records? Gillian Lomax, who runs the A Magical History Tour of Beatles spots in the Los Angeles area, tells Beatles Examiner she has a plan to make his big day Monday just a little more special.

“I thought it would be a really nice gesture to ask fans from around the world to send a birthday greeting to Ringo Starr for this Monday.” she told Beatles Examiner. “I have posted on numerous Facebook sites and have so far gathered a number of nice birthday messages.” Lomax says she'll print them all out Sunday and present them to Ringo on Monday when he comes to Capitol Records for the public event.

Typical of the many comments on her Facebook page are these: Linda Tanabe Ingham posted, “ Happy Birthday Ringo! I'll never forget that night watching 'The Ed Sullivan Show' as a little girl, it paved the way for my music taste forever. Wishing you many more great years to come!” Another is Mark Del Toro's greeting, “Happy birthday drummer man! You're the 'Greatest'!” or Richard Spadafora's “ Happy Birthday Thank you Ringo for all the Music Love and Peace. One day the world will be United and Filled with Love for all Mankind.”

Lomax says she can't print out "likes" and that a message is required to be included in the birthday greetings to Ringo. “I'm just really wanting to allow fans everywhere to show their appreciation to somebody who brought an incredible amount of joy to so many, even changed some people's lives,” she said. “What a huge void we would have had had it not been for the biggest band in the world? We love our Ritchie and are happy that he is still around.”
