ONCE IN A LIFETIME: It's not every day you have a 64th birthday. So Diane Merriam got a special cake to celebrate it. (See at left.) And her family and friends sang "When I'm 64." Only thing missing, she says, was Sir Paul. "Oh well. Maybe some other time," she writes.
SPEAKING OF BIRTHDAYS: May 3 happens to be the birthday of Mary Hopkin. The singer of "Those Were the Days" hits a milestone today. Happy birthday, Mary! In her honor, we added a great performance of her wonderful hit, "Those Were the Days" below. (What a great song it still is!) Happy birthday, Mary! Be sure to check out our interview with Mary here and some of our other articles on Mary in the Related Articles section at left.

What a beautiful cake.
A very happy birthday, Mary Hopkin! I can't tell you the number of happy hours I've spent listening to you sing - especially those old Apple songs, some of which you (supposedly) weren't that fond of! Of course, Earth Song Ocean Song was and is a classic album - it'd be nice if Apple would keep it in print!
Again a very happy birthday to you, Mary. I hope all is well and that you are enjoying life. Now give Apple a call and tell them to keep all your Apple albums in print - and whatever happened to the Mary Hopkin Rarities album they hinted at about 20 years ago? And don't even get me started about trying to find a copy of your Spirit album!
Oh my gosh, Steve thank you so much this is a blast.
Didn't know if you would post it but much thanks. Sent
it out to all my friends. I don't do twitter or facebook.
But I emailed everyone who was at the party it was a really
special night for me and this made it even better. Memories
everlasting for me.
Thanks again
Diane S. Merriam
