BBC LENNON PODCAST: A free download of a recent BBC program about John Lennon is available on the BBC website. The 43-minute “Lennon: The Wenner Tapes” podcast, which aired in mid-September, discusses his 1971 Rolling Stone interview and includes excerpts. It's available here.
McCARTNEY ON HENDRIX: Paul McCartney is one of the featured film interviewees in "American Masters: Jimi Hendrix - Hear My Train A Comin'," on PBS, DVD and Blu-ray Nov. 5. FIRST REVIEW OF LEWISOHN AUTHOR'S CUT: Author Johnny Rogan, who has written a celebrated biography of the Byrds, is the first to review the extended version of Mark Lewisohn's “Tune In,” which so far will only be available in the UK. He reviewed it for the Irish Times and you can read here.
BEATLES BOOK TABLE: You may want to check out your nearest Barnes & Noble. The one we visited this week had a Beatles book bargain table with some great choices. The one we saw had Mark Lewisohn's “The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions,” Spencer Leigh's new “The Beatles in America” (a different book than the one we mentioned above) and maybe the best deal of all, a pack of replica newspapers with Beatles headlines from the New York Times all for under $15 each. (The newspaper pack was $10.)
We love to write about the Beatles and have been doing it since our days at a major metropolitan newspaper. Don't miss the best and most extensive original stories and intervews about the Beatles in all our Beatles column pages at Beatles Examiner, Paul McCartney Examiner, George Harrison Examiner and Ringo Starr Examiner. Be sure to subscribe and you'll get first word when we publish.
