Beatle news briefs: McCartney puts it all online

MEMORY ALMOST IN A CLOUD: Wednesday's story about Paul McCartney's agreement with HP for a digital cloud caused a little confusion, judging from some comments we received. Actually, it sounds pretty interesting. Think of it as backing up your computer online and giving the public access to some of it. That's what it appears McCartney is doing. What, how much will be available and whether it will cost fans anything are the big questions, which weren't answered today. HP said they hadn't done this with anyone else. Be interesting to see who else decides to do it and in what manner.

BEATLES AND MORE IN THE PAST: Here's a great site if you're a fan of vintage ads, especially music ads. Called Billboarding Party, it's a collection of old ads from Billboard. There are four old Bealtes ads, two with Paul McCartney, one each by Ringo Starr and John Lennon, plus the Monkees, Tony Bennett,  Donovan, Joe Cocker (including this one with a Beatle connection) and a wide range of others. It'll keep you busy.

JULIAN AT LUPUS GALA: The picture here is Julian Lennon at the Lupus.org gala Sept. 14 with Eduardo Xol, of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and his sister, Monica Cajayon. Lennon was honored for his his efforts to bring lupus to the forefront of popular culture, raise money for research, and inspire individuals living with lupus and their family and friends to band together and advocate for more effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure. Xol was master of ceremonies for the event.

No wonder the HP people were in the VIP seats in Philly at his concert! Paul maybe should ask Olivia if he could borrow "Stuck Inside a Cloud" as his theme song for it!!

we all were confused on Paul's website too. The big question is, will free features such as his wonderful message board remain free?

The big question for me is, will these be the actual multitrack masters that they'll be releasing?

Can you imagine listening to all his recordings in isolation?
Hopefully one of my biggest dreams ever will come true.
