HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GEORGE!: Nothing we could say would be adequate, so we'll just refer you to the video below of George singing "Cheer Down" in Japan. The song is a favorite of ours. Miss him.
MORE MACCA UP AND COMING: Two more Up and Coming Tour dates were announced Wednesday for Florida and Puerto Rico, which go on sale March 8. The U.S. shows will include "(I Want To) Come Home," according to the press release for the dates and "some never-before-played-on-US-soil songs added to the set." (Can we start putting in our pitch for "Mull of Kintyre"?)
AND MORE COMING UP: And there may be more to come. One report says he'll play Glasgow July 1, which also could mean other summer tour dates. Looks like it could be a busy year for the former Beatle.
SEAN LENNON: Sean talks about the Ghost of a Saber-Toothed Tiger, who were to perform Wednesday in San Francisco, his concert Tuesday night in Oakland that we reviewed and more in an interview with Michael Krasny of S.F. station KQED.
THURSTON MOORE AND ONO: Thurston Moore has announced on his blog he's collaborating with Yoko Ono on a trio album with Kim Gordon. "With blindfolds," he notes.

I read somewhere that George was celebrating his birthday on the wrong day his entire life, and that his birthday is actually on the 24th? Hmm...
Love that song, "Cheer Down," and George's guitar work. The entire concert in Japan was great and I so hoped at the time that he would bring it all to America. George looked and sounded great. His, John's and Paul's and Ringo's brilliance in concert after the Beatles....when sound systems improved...just made me so wish they could have still been together and performed when we could have finally actually heard them. Brilliant musicians..all. (Thanks George. Miss you. You were "my" Beatle.) And I loved that George knew what color to wear...orange/red shirt. It suited him. He did that in the Concert for Bangla Desh as well. He had great instincts. Period.
His birthday always confuses me...
I love you George, wherever you are I hope you're getting all of our warm thoughts, happy 67th.
Miss you, dear George.
