A WILD WEEK: It was a wild and crazy week last week, centered around our trip to Los Angeles for the second Paul McCartney Hollywood Bowl concert. One thing that was really great about being at the show was being at the Bowl itself. It was our first time in that venue and the history of the Bowl was in the air. Not only was it being added to that night with Paul McCartney being there, but the past history of the Beatles (and so many others) being there was inescapable. We were glad to be a part of it. Among those who have played there in the past, besides the Beatles: The Doors, Frank Sinatra, the Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, the Jackson 5, Sonny & Cher ... and that doesn't even begin to cover it. We'd always wanted to attend a concert there and we're glad we finally had the chance. Great venue, though next time we hope it's a little warmer.
THE MISSING PODCAST THAT ISN'T: If you're wondering where the first part of the two-part series on Beatle parodies the Fab Fourum is doing (since they played part 2 last week), it's coming. The guys intentionally skipped the first part as a nod to April Fool's.

Hey Steve,
Don't forget radio station 93 KHJ's Boss Jocks who brought the Rolling Stones there back in 1966 with opening act, the up and coming band from L.A. the Buffalo Springfield, next to the Beatles the best show I'd ever seen at the Bowl. Don't know if you know this but on off days you can visit the Hollywood Bowl and walk all around it including it's stage. It's great to stand on the stage and look out onto the seats and see what your favorite act sees.
Rock Singer: Yeah, I've heard you can tour the Bowl. Have to keep that in mind next time we're down there. There's a great sign before you go into the Bowl itself that lists many of the acts that have played there. The Beatles are the one pictured on the sign, but the list is very long and has an incredible list of names. That Stones-Buffalo Springfield show must have been amazing.
Hey Steve,
Your right the Stones show was amazing. The local Radio Station 93 KHJ had been promoting the show 24/7 and if I say that the crowed was as loud as the Beatle's show that would be putting it lightly. It's to bad they didn't record that show it would had been a great piece of Stones & Hollywood Bowl history.
The Stones were finally getting a little respect with the song "Satisfaction" peaking at #1 on the local record charts and LP "High Tides & Green Grass" flying off the shelves I was witnessing the first coming of the RS. I knew that you could be a fan of both bands...the ying ...yang effect of British music of that time.
Always felt that I was born at the right time.
