Beatle news briefs: Church holding Beatles Mass; signed dollar bill back on eBay

The dollar bill signed by the four Beatles that was listed as sold on Dec. 4 went back for sale the same day on eBay by the original seller after the first sale fell through. The current bidding at 1 a.m. ET on the new listing stood at $21,000. The second auction ends at 3:46 p.m. ET Dec. 5.

The 1963 dollar bill is signed by all four members of The Beatles in Feburary, 1964, before their appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” according to the listing. The bill comes framed with a photo of the Beatles at JFK Airport and has been authenticated by memorabilia expert Frank Caiazzo. It comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Monday morning, the bidding for the original auction stood at $9,500 and had not met the reserve price. At 1 a.m. ET Dec. 4, about 12 hours later, the bidding had passed the reserve and stood at $23,500. It shot up another $900 to $24,400 when the bidding ended.

BEATLES MASS AT CATHEDRAL: Maybe it's only natural that in Cleveland, the city that is home to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral will pay tribute to John Lennon on Dec. 8 with a Beatles Mass at 9 a.m., reported the Cleveland Plain Dealer Dec. 4. The Mass will include the songs “Imagine,” “All You Need Is Love” and “Let It Be.”

DONOVAN TO HEADLINE FEST: Donovan will headline the upcoming Fest for Beatles Fans Feb. 7-9 in New York that will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' arrival in America, the Fest announced Monday. In addition, this year's Fest will feature a New York City walking tour of Beatles and John Lennon sites led by Susan Ryan. More information is available at the Fest website.

HALL OF FAMERS TO ABOTR: On Friday, Abbey Road on the River will announce two Rock Hall of Fame bands for its 2014 Louisville lineup, which already includes former Wings member Laurence Juber, Freda Kelly of “Good Ol' Freda,” artist Georgina Flood, and a long list of Beatle tribute bands.
