THE NEXT REISSUE PHASE: There are reports floating around that the Beatles vinyl reissues, which Apple CEO Jeff Jones told MOJO last year were on the way and which we've written about previously, will be out in October, but no date has been finalized. A Christmas season release in the spirit of last year's huge Beatle marketing push wouldn't surprise us, though.
MORE PLATINUM BEATLES: The RIAA certified the Beatles "1" album as 11 times platinum in early March.
BEATLES WITH A BAD CONNECTION: In an interview with the North County Times, Neil Innes tells writer Jim Traesger how the Rutles first came about on "Saturday Night Live." "The pretext was, Eric Idle could get the Beatles together for $300, only the connection was bad and it was The Rutles." Innes also says he's grateful for his success. "I can't take for granted how lucky I've been, one, for meeting the Bonzos and, two, meeting the Pythons," he says.
START OF THE FEST: For Mark Lapidos of the Fest for Beatles Fans, March 28 was a day he'll never forget. It was on that day in 1974 that he met John Lennon and told him of his plans to do a Beatles convention. Lennon's response was, "I'm all for it. I'm a Beatles Fan, too!" Lapidos held his first Beatlefest that year and has been going on ever since.
RINGO'S ANTHOLOGY RETURNS: Eagle Rock Entertainment will reissue "Ringo Starr ... the Anthology: So Far" in June, exact date to be announced. The set was originally released by Koch Records in 2001.
THE "UNIVERSE" HAS MOVED: "The Beatles Universe" show with host Aaron Badgley can now be heard at 9 a.m. EST Sundays. You can hear it on the radio in the Oshawa area at 94.9 FM "The Rock",
or on the net at http://www.therock.fm/listenlive.asp.

Beatle's "1" on it's way to being the biggest selling record of all time.
Second show in Foro Sol México: 28 May, 2010.Confirmed.
Also of note in the most recent RIAA certifications are The Beatles Mono box set certified platinum and--most importantly--The Beatles Stereo box set 3 X platinum and Love 2 X platinum, bringing the Fabs' total number of multi-platinum certifications up to 26, and breaking the record of 24 previously co-held with Elvis Presley.
Yeah they also certified Love and the box sets. I'm surprised The White Album or Abbey Road haven't mobed up 1 yet, especially white album since it's a double.
I don't understand how it works anyway, sometimes it'll be years and then an album will go from platinum straight to 4x platinum.
