A REAL IDOL APPEARS ON "IDOL": We had our say about Tuesday night being Beatles night on "American Idol." Paul McCartney made a non-singing appearance on the show on tape (see subquality video below) to give some encouragement.
JUBER CD RELEASE DATE: There was a comment on our previous Beatle news briefs asking when Laurence Juber's new Beatles CD would be released. He emailed us and said it'll be premiered at the Chicago Fest for Beatle Fans in August.
LOWBUDGET PARTY: In honor of Lowbudget Records' new Beatles tribute CD called "Across Their Universe," they'll hold a CD release party from 8 to 11 p.m. April 13 at Johnny D's, 20 Holland St., Davis Square, Somerville, Mass. Admission is $8. From what we heard on the website, it sounds fairly good. The cover is a nice takeoff on the UK "A Hard Day's Night" cover.
