Beatle news briefs: '70s band with Beatles connection to make U.S. TV debut

STACKRIDGE IS BACK: Stackridge, pictured at left, whose 1974 album, "The Man in the Bowler Hat," was produced by Sir George Martin, will make their debut on "The Late Show With Craig Ferguson" on CBS March 14. The group reunited in 2008 after splitting up in 1976. The Beatle connection doesn't stop there: They recorded a song called "Something About the Beatles", and one of the members, Andy Davis, played guitar on John Lennon's "Imagine" album.

FANGS FOR THE NOMINATION: Author Alan Goldsher has announced the audio version of his book "Paul Is Undead: The British Zombie Invasion" has been nominated by the Audio Publishers Association for an Audie Award in the Best Humor category. "Jon Stewart and David Sedaris are among my fellow nominees (yikes!), so I'll just go ahead and say that it's an honor to be considered," he commented in an email announcing the nomination. The winners will be announced on May 24.

RINGO'S TOUR: Even without an official announcement, there are a lot of dates out there so far. It looks like it will cover Europe pretty well. It should be a great tour.  For all the news on the tour and the album, see our roundup here.
