A female Great Dane was brought into Galveston County Animal Resource Center (ARCPETS) today, after an Animal Control Officer (ACO) had beaten her with a catch pole. The dog now called Fine Wine was refused medical attention because the shelter labeled her as a dangerous dog.
Fine Wine’s story quickly spread on Facebook, and after receiving over 1000 phone calls, ARCPETS moved her to the care of a local veterinarian. Several animal rescues now fear she will be killed in 24-hours to cover up the abuse. Judy Jones, a Texas animal advocate started an anti-cover-up campaign for Fine Wine on Facebook.
Fine Wine suffers from possible Facial fractures, an eye hemorrhage from being choked, missing teeth, and a possible concussion. Jones is asking people in the Texas area to contact their local media to expose the ACO’s abuse and save Fine Wine’s life.
