Beat the heat

When temperatures are past the hundred mark who wants to be outside--unless you’re in a pool or lake. But of course during the weekdays can be impossible to get to any of those luxurious places. Getting inside your car is unbearable, and walking outside is a feat. So what do you do?

Call in sick to work- Of course you want to save your days for when you are actually sick. But come on, it’s hot. Your body couldn’t tell if you were running a fever, or in obscenely ferocious hot pit (we call Texas)

Carry around a hand held fan- Sounds simple enough, but I’ve yet to see anyone do this.

Visualization- Perhaps, a snow-covered mountain, or even picture  Antarctica? They say visualization can do anything. How many times have you seen pictures of snow, or in film and felt cold—just imagine those fierce prickles of snow. It could work.

Forget household chores- Mowing the lawn, yeah right? It’s way to hot, even at the brink of darkness. If complains arise from your neighbors, remind them they live in Texas too.

Stay indoors- Go to the movies, or stay in your house. Doesn’t matter, just do not venture to somewhere like the zoo. Imagine the smell that must erupt on these hot days.

Add Freon to your car! Let's be realistic here. If you can afford rims, you can afford this. No matter  if you pull one window down, or all four, you can still pass out.

Just remind yourself it’s August. We should get some cooler days at least by November.
