C’est Magnifique! The Beat Hotel is honoring all things French with their first annual Bastille Day celebration! Bastille Day is a national French holiday which commemorates the beginning of the French Revolution with the storming of the Bastille.
Celebrations are held all over France with fireworks and special guests, so the Beat Hotel is taking part in that tradition with two full nights on Sunday, July 13 and Monday, July 14 at 5 p.m. These two evenings include a special, authentic French menu by Executive Chef Ignacio Lopez, French cocktails, and special live performances from Groupe Salome with Lamine Toure and French singer Chloe Perrier. A local Boston band originally from Senegal, Groupe Salome is led by poet, storyteller, and percussionist Lamine Toure. Groupe Salome performs Senegalese mbalax music, a combination of jazz, reggae, funk, and Afro-beat. Featuring exotic instruments such as Sabar drums, Groupe Salome with Lamine Toure will take the stage on Sunday, July 13 at 7:30 p.m.
French singer Chloe Perrier extends the French ambiance at the Beat Hotel on Monday, July 14 as she cover popular jazz classics, French songs, and bossa nova throughout the evening. With a background singing, acting, playing several instruments, and writing songs from a young age, she has performed in renowned clubs all over Paris. Her debut album is called ‘Coeur de Francaise.’ Her performance will kick off at 8 p.m.
Executive Chef Ignacio Lopez will prepare appetizing, traditional French cuisine to complement the Bastille Day celebration. Skirt Steak Frites and Bouillabaisse are among the many authentic entrees to choose from starting at 5 p.m.
