The Barrington Living History Farm outside the Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historical Site will hold a “Beasts of Burden” program Feb. 11-12. Visitors may watch draught animals working a field to prepare for planting and watch as period tools are used to plow, cultivate and harrow.
The site is located off Highway 105 between Navasota and Brenham on FM 1155 about 30 miles from College Station. The farm is open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily with an admission fee of $5 for adults and $3 for students with children six years old and younger admitted free. Admission is also free to all state park annual pass holders. Discounted tour tickets for Independence Hall and the Star of the Republic Museum are available to interested parties.
