Bear Republic Brewing Company in Healdsburg is know for a few things. The first is their highly hopped ales. Second, they have been known to use rye in their beer, most famously in the Rye IPA Hop Rod Rye. With one of their newest releases, they've blended the use of both of these ingredients with a third, so a wonderful treat.
Ryevalry is a Rye-infused hopped-up double IPA with a twist. The twist is the use of a Belgian yeast strain. The result is a beer full of bright flavors (lemon, vanilla) a searing hop finish and a slight yeasty funk that brings out the rough edges of this beer to provide a contrast to the sweet and floral beginning. Beware though, this beer goes down easy but hides weighs in at over 8%. You have been warned.
Ryevalry - 8.2% A.B.V.
Another unique Rye beer from BRBC, this Double IPA is brewed with large quantities of American hops and fermented with a Belgian ale yeast to create a bitter, hoppy, and spicy ale is sure to delight.
Ryevalry is available only at the brewpub and only while supplies last. Make a trip up north to Healdsburg and try this unique offering while it's still available.
