With the weather starting to warm up, it's time to start looking for a beer we can more than a pint of in one sitting. Bear Republic has you covered with their Belgian-styled Single Ale Cher Ami.
The style Single Ale is taken from the Trappist Breweries of Belgium. A Single Ale is their lightest offering, much more sessionable than their dubbels or tripels which can push 9% in strength. A single ale typical comes in at or below 5%, making it a perfect refresher on hot days.
Cheri Ami is rich with flavors that jump out at you in the aroma. Big amounts of clove and fruit mingle in the nose as a preview for what's to come.
Light in alcohol, but not in flavor, the Cher Ami has a rich malt base that brings with it a bouquet of fruit flavor from apple to plums, all with a yeast driven clove bite that calls your taste buds to attention.
The 4.7% alcohol isn't too heavy, but lingers on the tongue in the finish, drying out the flavors so readily available in this session ale and encouraging you to continue drinking.
Cher Ami is a specialty beer available at the Bear Republic Brewing Brewpub in Healdsburg. Availability is limited, so be sure to get there while it's pouring or try one of their other dozen or more beers available at any given moment.
