The opening song of Bear Puns "A Blank Portrait" is an acoustic instrumental track, but do not be deterred (if this would really deter anyone)! Once the vocals come in it's a real game changer, as Bear Puns strengths really rely on their clever songwriting and unique vocal arrangements.
Tracks like "All in a Row" are good examples of the bands commonly used "call and response" vocal style, where a vocal will be responded to by the phrase being quickly repeated by a separate singer, or in other cases literally answered lyrically to the inital vocals "call".
The track ""California is Waiting" plays out like an epic anthem that genuinely stirs feelings of want for the West Coast... all the while delivering the message with a laid back spirit that proves the sentiment is genuine.
The second to last track entitled "Hey Girl" is a real goof track, which humanizes the already very human band... easily bringing a smile to the face of any musician who's ever recorded with friends.
