October means cooler weather and fun times! October means Craft Show and Fall Festival fun too!

The United Methodist Women of Bear Creek United Methodist Church are hosting a Craft Bazaar on Friday, October 15, 2010 from 5-8pm and Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 9am-4pm.

A FREE Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 10am-2pm.

Bear Creek UMC is located at 16000 Rippling Water Drive, Houston, Texas 77084. This is Bear Creek's 22nd year of the United Methodist Women hosting their craft show in Northwest Houston! The Bear Creek United Methodist Women seek to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice with is ministries and mission. They are pleased to announce that The Mission of Yahweh has been chosen as the partner charity this year. Bazaar Chair Leslie Kajileh said, "We are so pleased to have formed this relationship, the Mission of Yahweh is a much needed ministry in our area and we are thrilled to be able to give back to the community!"

The Mission of Yahweh has served homeless women and their children for over 49 years. The doors are always open for families in crisis. They are a truly unique refuge that not only gives food, clothing and shelter, but also is committed to helping residents to become self-sufficient, productive members of society. The Mission supports more than 2,300 residential stays each month. They also provide thousands of Houston/Carverdale-area residents with donations of food, clothing, school supplies and other necessities. The Mission will have a booth at the Craft Show.

The Friday event will provide vendors an extra chance to sell some of their wares and give Northwest Houston area residents an extra day of shopping! A special dinner of soup, bread, drink and dessert will be available for purchase. On Saturday, almost 100 indoor and outdoor booths of hand crafted and high quality items plus holiday, home decor and and gifts galore will be offered! This will be the perfect time to pick up some gifts for family, friends and neighbors or something for yourself!

The FREE Family Fall Festival offers Carnival Games, Prizes, Face Painting, Inflatables, a Cupcake Walk and more! Come dressed up in your favorite costume (family friendly please). The Chick-Fil-A Cow, Whataburger, Cub Scout Pack 827's Operation Popcorn, Boy Scouts of America Troop 827's Obstacle Course and live entertainment will be part of the festivities too!

The Missions Committee hosts the Pumpkin Patch - a BCUMC tradition and definite Fall photo opportunity with pumpkins, gourds and indian corn for sale! There will be plenty of food, drinks and snacks offered in Jacob's Grille and the Sweet Shoppe will tempt you with their delicious cakes, pies, pumpkin rolls, lemon bars, and spicy pickles!
