Beantown Pet Expo to be held in Plymouth, MA

The Beantown Pet Expo is coming to Plymouth, Mass. on April 12, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The jam-packed animal event at the South Shore Expo Center will feature more than 150 exhibitors, a variety of contests, games and demonstrations. Pets are welcome as long as they are well-behaved on a leash or in a carrier, and up to date on vaccinations.

The Pet Expo will also feature Shorty Rossi and his canine companion Hercules, stars of Animal Planet's Pit Boss, as well as Dogs on Deployment, a national non-profit organization that helps find foster families for dogs whose owners are on deployment.

"We want to let our Boston fans know how they can become champions for Pit Bull breeds in their own communities," said Shorty Rossi. “At the Beantown Pet Expo, pets are family - all types of pets are welcome to attend.”

Meet Midas, a therapy dog for a Marine who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and also the 2014 National Mascot for Dogs on Deployment, who will help spread the word about the organization's mission to keep beloved pets with their military owners.

Other exhibitors include rescues, retailers, veterinarians, trainers, non-profit organizations, and much more. Some of the exhibitors at the Expo include:

Interactive events include a pet talent contest, pet costume contest, dog agility demonstration and pet/owner musical chairs. Petfinder.com will be hosting a mega-adoption area where about 200 dogs from local shelters and rescues will be available for adoption. There will also be the opportunity for free dog nail trims, prize giveaways and discounted vaccinations and microchipping.
