Do you have a talent for bead stringing and knotting? Make it work for you. You can literally take your talent to the bank. To make it work for you, all you really need to do is make up a price list and have samples of your work displayed in a glass or wooden display case. Then, start going around to your local mom and pop jewelry stores and give each one your list of prices when you show your work.
Most of these jewelers pay by the inch for bead stringing and knotting, so lets say the pearls are 18 inches and need your expertise. This means that you will be paid for 18 times the amount you set per inch, so if you charge $3 per inch you will make $54. Shopping your talent can add up very nicely and help you supplement your income and fatten up your bank account a bit.
If you find out the jeweler has in in-house stringer/knotter, you can still offer to be a substitute or floater, in case their staffer has an illness. Show them that you are indispensable to them. Bring your best work examples and be competitive with your prices so that they'll go to you first before any other prospective stringers out there. Best of luck to you in your endeavors!
