Beachbody releases details of new PiYo workout program with Chalene Johnson

Beachbody has released details of its soon to be released program. PiYo, with celebrity trainer Chalene Johnson, will be released June 2014 at the Beachbody Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Chalene describes PiYo as “Strength and stretch and flexibility all rolled into one powerfully dynamic workout!” Chalene continues, “PiYo is for people who just don’t feel like Yoga and Pilates is the right fit for them. People who know they need flexibility training, but they want to get more out of it.”

PiYo is a 60 day workout program for your DVD player, not the gym. The workouts range from 25 to 45 minutes.

Chalene says she wanted to create a program that gives people “cardio” and “strength training” without using weights and helps people become “far more flexible.”


“You get so much stronger,” Chalene says. “Push-ups get easier, lunges get easier. Every part of your body gets stronger, longer and leaner from PiYo!”

One of the test group participants describe the results:

“My balance is better, my posture is better. I don’t have some of the nagging injuries…I’m literally drenched in sweat and I haven’t touched a weight today.”

According to Beachbody, PiYo workouts use “body weight” instead of traditional weights such as Dumbbells, Barbells and Kettle Balls. The workouts consist of “low-impact, high-intensity movements inspired by Pilates and Yoga.”

Team Beachbody Coach Natalie Nichols is excited about the release of PiYo.

“We’ve had great success with 21 Day Fix, and I am expecting similar or better success with PiYo.” She says PiYo “targets people like her who are not big fans of Yoga or Pilates… but understand the value each has to health and fitness.”

“PiYo will deliver all the health and flexibility benefits of Yoga and Pilates, but also give me the strength training and physical appearance that I love!”

Natalie says she is a big fan of Chalene Johnson and credits Chalene with her own transformation.

"She just knows how to keep you excited and looking forward to your next workout," Natalie said. "I used to dread going to the gym, but now I look forward to pushing play and getting into the groove with Chalene in the privacy and convenience of my own home.”

Natalie added that she will be offering multiple “PiYo Challenge Groups” so people can challenge and support each other. She won the Beachbody Challenge using two of Chalene Johnson’s workout programs, TuboJam and ChaLEAN Extreme.

Beachbody will launch PiYo for its coaches and current customers on June 23, 2014 through Its sister site,, will offer the program to the general public approximately 2 weeks later. A landing page to sign-up for notices was just released.

A price point for PiYo is forthcoming.
