Spring Break is almost here and Cocoa Beach is gearing up for college crowds who will be in town for Ron Jon's 2014 Beach 'N Boards Fest. The fun takes place from March 13-16 and the event is expected to draw tens of thousands.
The Ron Jon/Vans Jr. Pro will be an ASP 2-star event and the richest competition scheduled for the US East Coast in 2014. The event is expected to draw all of the best U.S. mainland, Hawaii and Latin American surfers age 20 and under, and will offer up valuable points toward the surfers’ qualifying for the Junior Pro World Championships in Australia. The men’s contest will feature a $20,000.00 cash purse, and the women’s contest will offer a $5,000.00 cash purse. The events are equally weighted with the ASP. Those events are scheduled daily but are wind and wave dependent and times may vary.

Ron Jon Kiteboarding will host a Collegiate Kiteboarding Association Contest on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16, conditions permitting. Schedule may adjust accordingly. There will be equipment and Cash Prizes of $300 per division.
Lessons will be available throughout the weekend and offer everyone the opportunity to ' test-drive ' a sport before investing in the equipment . And for those not interested in getting ' on board ' with water sports and will be content just to admire the scenery, Beach ‘N Boards Fest will include live music on Saturday evening. Skullcandy will host the top college bands and acts from around Florida.
Planners are advising those planning on attending not to expect the average festival food. Rather Beach ‘N Boards Fest will host several food trucks offering a wide variety of meals and snacks. The trucks will be serving from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Friday through Sunday.
