Beach House release home video for 'New Year' song

Dream pop band Beach House rang in the New Year with a video premiere for fans on Tuesday. The indie duo released a home video for their song, also titled “New Year.” The personal clip features Beach House recording their album in Texas along with other artsy shots.

“Here is a video we made using footage from our recording session at Sonic Ranch Studios, Tornillo, Texas. It's more of a home video thing, not a music video.......we just thought these moments and the memories they involve fit this song. SUPER SPECIAL thanks to our wonderful assistant engineer for the session Manuel Calderon (the guy with the tequila), who filmed all the time lapses and a lot of the studio footage,” Beach House wrote about the video's premiere on Youtube.

The “New Year” home video opens with Beach House's cat getting chased away then leads into the duo recording 2012's Bloom album in Texas. With all the time they put in on the record, Beach House had downtime to explore the area, which is also prominently featured in the clip. It's a reflective scene capturing Beach House's thinking process in the studio.

The ethereal “New Year” is lifted from Beach House's Bloom. The record hit No. 1 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart back in May.
