Trusting the Lord can be one of humanity’s greatest pitfalls. Those of us who believe in our Lord Jesus, do not always trust Him as we should. It is natural to worry and have minor fears, but as Christians, we must be able to let go of these troubles and leave it in God’s Hands. Of course, this is easier said than done, but a necessity nonetheless.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).”

Our Lord Jesus wants us to let go of what is making us scared or worried. We must put all these things away from our minds and hearts. There is nothing in this world more important than our Lord and His love for us. We must ask Him for the strength to overcome whatever fear or anxiety we may be feeling. Only through Jesus can we find peace to move on from what troubles us.

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these (Matthew 6:25-34).”

Life is not about all the difficulties and challenges along the way that will bring upon stress, fear and anxiety. In life, we have only one purpose: to strive to please our Lord Jesus Christ. Only through our Lord Jesus can we attain life through love and compassion. There will be tribulation and distress that will be as mere gifts for us to grow closer to God and to do our best to please Him.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:6-7).”

Beloved, understand that troubles will come along with the fear and anxiety that will upset us deeply. Our Lord is never far from us and God is not blind to our feelings. Jesus loves us so much and wants us to do right by Him. So, try to keep this in mind. When you are worried, anxious and afraid, say a little prayer to our Lord. Let God know that you are feeling these things and ask that He take them from you.

Sometimes it only takes a simple prayer or admittance that we cannot handle what is in front of us. The difficulties we endure are for a reason. Perhaps there is a lesson we must learn or a test we must pass. Either way, remember that after every storm, a rainbow appears. Our Lord will reward us for our strength to push through difficult situations. Depend on Jesus and do not give up. Meet our Lord in the middle, and He will care for the rest.
