When you think makeup with a stage presence, the name Bobbi Brown comes to your mind. Bobbi Brown is one of the most successful makeup artists to take the cosmetics and beauty industry by storm over the last 32 years. She developed her own brand which has become a top-seller, not only for its quality, but for its wide variety of products and the 'how to' lessons that are available to those that need the guidance on looking beautiful with makeup. Bobbi Brown Cosmetics provides fierce competition to Estee Lauder and other popular brands.

It is more than the face of beauty that appeals to Brown. She is very involved in philanthropy. In 2013, on International Women's Day, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics launched 'The Pretty Powerful Campaign' for women and girls. Brown is a strong advocate for women's education and the purpose of this campaign was to maintain a platform to support those organizations working to empower women through job skills training programs so that they have a chance at a bright future. The beginning starts with educating our girls.

As a follow-up to the ideal which was set forth in 2013, on International Women's Day 2014, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics got actively involved in the girls' education movement and the 'Girl Rising' Fund.

"Pretty Powerful is a campaign that focuses on confidence," says Bobbi Brown herself. "Nothing makes a woman or girl feel more confident than being educated and gaining the knowledge and skills to better her life and the lives of her family and community. Now that is pretty powerful."

As an even more powerful reminder to the importance of education for women, 'Girl Rising' also introduced a touching and inspirational film about nine strong girls who beat the odds to gain that education that they so badly wanted and deserved. They will become role models for all girls in similar situations. It is a proven fact that girls encounter more obstacles than boys when it comes to equal education such as discrimination and forced marriage just to name a couple. Taking it one step further, if you believe in the cause and want to stand behind their mission, head to a Bobbi Brown counter or go online to purchase a Pretty Powerful mascara in a limited-edition pink tube and bronzing powder to compliment the mascara. Every single dollar from the sale of both items will go to the 'Girl Rising Fund' which is all about girl empowerment programs in the developing world.

This is only the beginning of great things still to come. More makeup to benefit the fund will be rolled out in 2015. You and me and our family and friends can promote the importance of this campaign and use it as a means of showing gratitude for the education that we have been lucky enough to obtain. Remember, educate a girl. Change the world.
