'Be Our Guest' at Saenger Theatre as BroadwayInNOLA continues

February, the month of Valentine's Day, represents love. What better way to start off the theme than with a 'tale as old as time,' at the Saenger Theatre?

Beauty and the Beast National Tour
Joan Marcus

Favoured childhood stories have been growing in popularity as Disney adapts more and more of their animated works (and some non-animated) for the stage. Among them is Beauty and the Beast, a story that tells of a woman who looks beyond physical appearances and opens her heart – and another's – to true beauty. The show closed on Broadway in 2007 after over a decade of performances to make way for the short-lived run of The Little Mermaid, but its spirit lives on through national tours.

Beauty and the Beast stops in New Orleans from February 4th-9th to magically brighten the Saenger's already glamourous stage. The production contains all of the spirited songs from the animation, with new additions that bring enlightened depth to some of the characters. As the Beast is a prince under a spell, the show also contains many magical effects that are sure to wow audiences.

Join the fun during the show's one-week run in NOLA:

  • Tuesday, 4 February, 7:30pm
  • Wednesday, 5 February, 7:30pm
  • Thursday, 6 February, 7:30pm
  • Friday, 7 February, 8pm
  • Saturday, 8 February, 2pm
  • Saturday, 8 February, 8pm
  • Sunday, 9 February, 2pm
  • Sunday, 9 February, 7:30pm

As with every BroadwayInNOLA production, the Saenger's doors will open roughly an hour before showtime. House doors open 30 minutes to curtain.

Tickets are on sale, online or through the Saenger's box office.

Beauty and the Beast is part of BroadwayinNOLA's 2013-2014 season, alongside Book of Mormon, Ghost: the Musical, Sister Act, Memphis, and War Horse.
