Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble (1 Peter 3:8, NKJV)
The mind can take you places that do and don’t want to go. It is important to choose your thoughts carefully and wisely. It is amazing how true this is. A person can willfully change his or her thoughts to reflect what they believe. One does not have succumb to random thoughts and adhere to their suggestions. Some thoughts need to be stopped in their tracks by smarter incoming references to what is right.
God calls His people to do just that with their thoughts. Their thoughts should be of the same likeness as His thoughts. Jesus and His teachings should dominate and take over as the believer’s focus. This will take perseverance and being watchful over the mind. The Holy Spirit will bring reminders to following God’s commands. God wants believers to be like Him in compassion, love, and responding in humility toward others. He encourages that this is possible and must be pursued with diligence.
Challenge: Believer, put on the mind of Christ Jesus! Pursue this attitude of mind with perseverance and diligence because the reward is great!
