"Be Fruitful!"(Genesis 1:28)

Columbia State Community College in Columbia, TN is hosting an African Art Exhibit in the Pryor Art Gallery, Hickman Building on campus where Lucy Scott Kuykendall is the director.   The art collection belongs to Rusty Vest and features work from Tom Halliquist.  The exhibit is scheduled until the end of February and coincides with Black History Month.  A special event is planned on Thursday, February 16. (See article link to learn more.)   This local cultural and artistic venue of African Art is an awesome opportunity to celebrate others and have a real appreciation for their experiences.   The article quotes the art gallery director, Kuykendall said. “Their objects express who they are with what they have, exhibiting unquenchable vitality and creativity.”

Creativity can be found on every continent in the world and amongst various people.  It is in the DNA of how God made mankind (male and female).  The Book of Genesis tells all about how God created them.  The Scripture says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”(Genesis 1:27)  God created human beings like Himself, and one attribute of God is creativity.  Wow! The creature can also create.  The African Art exhibit will show examples of the creativity attribute flowing from the heart of people.  Kuykendall’s statement gives some perspective on the act of creating.  Creating is utilizing what is in one’s possession and making use of it.  The results are art pieces, music compositions, literature such as poetry, and/or a dish of favorite food.

The list of creative outcomes can go and on.  God ordained creativity.  It is His will for the human mind and will be at work to create.   His word says, “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number.”(Genesis 1:28)  He was talking about reproduction.  Reproduction is not limited to other humans, but it can be expounded whatever gifts and talents that are placed within us for His glory.  Gifts and talents are to be utilized to increase the Kingdom of God in Christ Jesus.  Challenge: Creature Believer, please honor the Lord Jesus Christ and increase in number with brilliant Godly creations.  He will be glorified!
