“God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:5
Ever have that why me feeling? Do not feel bad. We are all tempted in one way or another by something or perhaps someone at points in our lives. Do not feel like you are the only one. It is normal to go through hardships and temptations. It is also okay to feel frustrated during these times. What is not okay is to dwell on these why me feelings and feelings of frustration. It is not okay to become so sorry for yourself that you give up on overcoming the situation when faced with a temptation or hardship.
The key word in this verse is faithful. Who is faithful? God is faithful, even when we are not. Even when we want to give up, God does not and will not. The second part of the verse states that God will not give you more than you can handle and even beyond that He will provide a way out. Think of that situation that seems unbearable. Think of that temptation that will not seem to leave. Now remember God’s faithfulness. Remember God’s power. That situation is not unbearable and that temptation will leave because God is faithful and will not tempt you beyond what you can handle. But you must do your part also, press on and trust God. Remember this day and each day after to put your faith in God no matter what situation you may find yourself in.
