How often have you completed a task to the best of your ability but feel cheated if you were not complimented? It is okay to confess. Or, have you asked yourself why it bothers you when you do something for others, including family members and no one bothers to say thank you? Right, it is confession time.
It is an eye opener to learn that you just might be an approval junkie. Yes, you have unknowingly given others power over you if you are an approval seeker. Please know that it is never necessary to have the acceptance of others in order to feel good about yourself. Actually some very good people might even overlook the good things you do simply because they are occupied living their own lives, as should you.
Good news, especially for ladies. Your good opinion of yourself will help you to recognize that your best is good enough. The approval or disapproval of others should not be the focus of a serene and confident woman. Two suggestions: Feel good about yourself (it might take a little practice) and know that it is your opinion that matters.
Perhaps today in Atlanta or elsewhere in the world, someone will read this and be encouraged to take a self- inventory and finally stop looking outside of yourself for approval or acceptance.
