Support inspiring senior citizens with Craftsy and a wish of a lifetime. The Craftsy Web site has partnered with Wish of a Lifetime to foster and encourage respect and appreciation of seniors by fulfilling their life enriching wishes.
More than 10 million senior citizens live alone, and for many the holidays can bring feelings of isolation and despair.
Seniors in our society are sometimes underappreciated and ignored. The Lifetime program helps provide senior citizens with wishes to travel to their hometowns and allowing them to reconnect with their loved ones.
Through the Craftsy site there is two ways you can help. Now, through December 11, 2013 you can sign up for one of the many Craftsy classes online and they will donate $5.00 of each purchase to Wish of a Lifetime.
Another way to contribute is to give directly from the link on the site to help a senior visit family during the holidays. Learn more about the program here..
If you decide to donate by enrolling in one of the many classes available here are some of the ongoing craft classes available. You can learn techniques in cake decorating, knitting, quilting, fine art, photography, food and cooking, crocheting, embroidery, home and garden, jewelry, paper crafts, spinning and weaving.
There are many other opportunities to help seniors out in your local area. Check with senior community centers, shelters, assisted living facilities, hospitals and local organizations to find out how to volunteer or get involved.
