We watch kids run, jump, yell and generally have fun. As children we know no fear. We play. We create. We laugh. But as adults we began to take on responsibilities, our lives become busier, and we just don’t have the time. But are we missing out on all that fun? Yes! So do we return to the fun and exuberance of our youth? Yes, but only if we want to end up with sore limbs, aching backs and a visit to the emergency room. So what do we do?
We can modify what we learned as kids. We can hula-hoop, we can jump rope, we can trampoline. We can even run the bleachers, albeit slower, we can play kickball, we can run the stairs. These are things that are inexpensive and get our heart rate up and our weight down. But what if we can’t do those things anymore? Then we walk, by ourselves, with another, or with the dog, giving both of you much needed exercise. So what are you waiting for? Be a kid again! Get outside and move!
