Ok let's face it not everyone is a 5 feet tall, petite little bombshell super mom of 2 like Jada, but what ever our body structure or size, if we choose to employ some of her work out techniques (and her die hard work ethics) we can achieve some great fitness goals. Jada Pinkett-Smith is known for her tight, toned frame. It is a physique that does not go unnoticed by the paparazzi as she shows it off every chance she gets. Recently, a fan, inspired by Mrs. Smith, inquired about her work out regimen, more specifically her amazing shoulders. Jada graciously shared a portion of her arm routine with her fan.
In her response to the question of how she got such great arms, Jada revealed "push ups are may favorite exercise for my arms", (you can tell that she is serious about that). The star continued her tutorial, "You may need to start on your knees to get in 3 sets of 10. Try to work to getting off of your knees and doing as many push-ups as possible a day until your arms look the way YOU want. Try different arm positions as well, hands in a triangle with nose to the middle of it for triceps, arms wide hands turned out for chest, and then the good ol' classic push-up. No gym necessary."
The benefit push ups have on arms, shoulders and chest is undeniable and has been incorporated into work out routines for nearly forever. An added benefit one may not automatically deduce is the improvement said push ups can also have on back fat. What is back fat you ask? Back fat is that unsightly flesh that bulges out just over the crest of the bra under your arm. Other exercises help improve some other forms of back fat like the "muffin top" that bubbles over the top of low rise jeans, but the push up is great for the fore mentioned type (the bra bulge). The two techniques that Jada mentioned (hands in a triangle and hands turned out) work particularly well.
Clearly, Jada does more than push ups to keep her figure in tip top shape. If you take a glance at her Facebook page she is always promoting health and wellness on behalf of women and she also posts photos of her working out religiously to stay in shape. Her regimen is not an easy one to maintain, however. First, recognize that we all are at different points on the journey, but we have to start some where.
