Be a happy tourist for the day in Miami with your dog

Day out with the dog-slide0
A.K.

A planned out day to enjoy with your dog at a tourist attraction, upscale popular outdoor shopping center, and a restaurant and lounge that even has a dog menu.

Coral Castle loves dogs and allows them at this beautiful museum where they have an outdoor cafe and an inside gift shop to browse with your dog. Eat, tour and shop together the way it should be, one happy family. There is a video and a tour included with your admission price.

Now that you're done with the museum, maybe you want to stroll at a shopping center where a selection of shops even allow you to enter and shop with your dog.

Well-behaved leashed dogs are allowed at this outdoor mall and inside many of the stores including Nordstrom, Athropologie, Crabtree & Evelyn, and Williams-Sonoma. Several restaurants also allow dogs at their outdoor tables, including Cafe Ibiza, Java of Merrick Park and Pescado. - dogfriendly.com

It's located about 20 miles north of Coral Castle called Village of Merrick Park at 358 Avenue San Lorenzo in Coral Gables. The place is beautiful with a wide open lush garden on the main floor where kids have a great time rollicking, and restaurants on every corner with indoor or outdoor seating among the trees.

Sawa Restaurant and Lounge was very friendly and inviting, they even have a doggy menu. Went there for my birthday and had a very pleasant time, they brought me out a complimentary birthday desert with lit sparkles as a candle alternative which I thought was an awesome idea.

Their doggy menu consists of Tapas: Purina beggin strips, Red Barn bully slices, Entrees: chicken, filet mignon, salmon kebabs, Desert: vanilla or coconut pineapple ice cream. Real people food that was tempting us too. Dogs adored their dinner and desert. A happy day for the whole family.

The only thing about this shopping center is that the parking garage charges about $2 the first hour and $1 each additional hour. But I'm glad that didn't deter me from going because it was a pleasurable experience.
