The 2014 BCS National Championship is just hours away as the Florida State Seminoles prepare to face the Auburn Tigers tonight to determine college football's newest National Champion.
According to CBS Sports on Jan. 5, tonight's championship game will be a bittersweet one for fans. On one hand college football will be crowning a new champion, on the other fans will be elated to see the BCS system come to an end.
Tonight's championship will be the 16th and final BCS Championship game as a new playoff system will be implemented next year, but that's next year - tonight is all about this year's championship.
Top-ranked and unbeaten Florida State will look to complete their perfect season vs. No. 2 Auburn but it may not come as easy as all of their other wins did in 2013. FSU won every game by an incredible average of 27 points per game, but Auburn will be the toughest team they will face this season by far.
Vegas odds makers have Florida State as a 10 point favorite with the over/under number set at 68.
Led by Heisman winner and the AP player of the year Jameis Winston, FSU is a machine, but that spread seems high, especially for an Auburn team that beat Alabama, Missouri, Georgia and Texas A&M.
Florida State may win this game, but Auburn gets the Vegas money.
Pick: Auburn +10
The 2014 BCS Championship kicks off at 8:30 p.m. EST and can be seen on ESPN.
