This fashion week, Examiner.com was on the scene at the BCBGMAXAZRIA and Herve Leger presentations and we also attended an intimate chat with Lubov Azria as a guest of American Express in their chic Skybox.

Krysta Rodriguez, Model Jessica Hart, Sami Gayle, Model Julie Henderson, DJ Kiss, Kate Nash were a few of the notables spotted in the front row of BCBG.

The Look: The beauty look for the Fall 2013 BCBG runway show captured the natural beauty of the Middle East with a sultry, grunge-twist. With flawless, luminized skin and perfectly smudged eyes, Val Garland for Sephora, along with SEPHORA PRO, create sexy and subtle looks that embody the eclectic gypsy style of the fashions. To create the face, Val Garland and SEPHORA PRO, used the following products:

For the eyes:

• Dior DiorShow Mascara in Chestnut 698
• Sephora Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear Waterproof in 24 Dark Brown Matte
• Stila Kajal Eye Liner in Topaz
• Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon

Tip: Line the inner eye with nude eyeliner to brighten complexion and open up the eye.

For the face:

• Benefit Watt’s Up!
• Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder
• Stila Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer
• Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil

Tip: Blend foundation seamlessly into the skin by using a tapered foundation brush like the Sephora Pro Precision Foundation Brush #48 which easily maneuvers the hard-to-reach contours of the face.

Petra Nemcova, Coco Rocha, Nichole Galicia, Miss USA Nana Meriwether, Miss Teen USA Logan West, Sami Gayle, Leigh Lezark, Alyssa Campanella, Julie Henderson, and Alexa Ray Joel were a few of the notables we spotted in the front row of the Herve Leger Fall 2013 Presentation.

The Look: The beauty look for the Fall 2013 Herve Leger runway show captures the opulence and beauty of nature. Drawing upon inspiration from surrealism, Val Garland and SEPHORA PRO created a perfectly bronzed and illuminated face with a nude eye and lip to cultivate an enchanted aura amidst the natural beauty of a sun-kissed complexion.

To create the face, Val Garland and SEPHORA PRO, used the following products:

For the face:
• Benefit Watt’s Up!
• Hourglass Illume Crème-To-Powder Bronzer
• Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage
• Stila Convertible Color in Camellia
• Stila Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer

Tip: To achieve an all-over, even glow, extend bronzer up onto the lids of the eyes and under the browbones all the way down to the décolletage using a stippling brush like the Sephora Pro Stippling Brush #44.

For the eyes:
• Sephora Eyelash Curler
• Tarte EmphasEYES™ Inner Rim Brightener

Tip: Pump the eyelash curler three times against the lashes to get an ultimate curl without mascara.

For the lips:
• Sephora Rouge Shine Lipstick in No. 01 Honeymoon

Tip: Using a slightly metallic, semi-sheer nude lipstick enhances lips natural color while still evening out the complexion.

After the Herve Leger presentation Lubov Azria participated in a Q&A in the American Express Skybox. Check out with Lubov had to say about working on that collection:

For Herve Leger, what we start with is we work mostly in bandages. So, bandage is actually not a material. It’s actually a knit. It’s like a knitting machine knits it up. And so, we look at the bandages and we start draping them on the dress form. The bandage dress is not a pattern where you can cut. It’s actually, individual bandages are done are put on the mannequins and you pin them and then you sew them by hand. So, it’s a very intense process. Sometimes it takes six weeks to make one dress. So, we have to start working very early in advance. And this time we wanted to emanate nature...Imagine you’re going into the forest and the first thing you’re seeing is leaves and lily pads. It’s a fantasy forest lily pad. So the first three dresses actually were inspired by lily pads. And then you go deeper in and then you find the croco textures and then you find the sort of this kind of caviar—we were thinking more of textures...There’s a look number 10 that I’m obsessed. When we took it out of the box when I first got it, I was like, “Oh!” And when you have that moment after you’ve seen about 10,000 dresses, you know, over the years, you’re like, “Oh, my God, I still have it.” But anyway, so he goes into the forest and then we’re imagining the sun coming through the forest and the way it would anchor down, and that’s the Jacquard that came out first. Then we have the ocelot Jacquard that came second. And then all the rain started raining and the beads on the dresses, that’s what we presented, sort of the rain. And then it started crystallizing and it became white. And then the final dress, which took about three months to make, that dress. Again, we count how many hours it took for the beaders to bead the whole dress. That was the finale. It was kind of like the moon in the night at the end. So, I’m very poetic when it comes to doing the show. For me, you know, when you work nine months for 10 minutes. You know, if you don’t give 500%, then it’s not worth doing it.

During he conversation Azria emphasized the importance of teamwork and how her team inspires her. On how she continues to find inspiration after 20 years of designing she said, "I think the moment you get bored of this one, you start. And we started about three weeks ago....You know the greatest thing about fashion is change. We’re changing all the time and that’s the greatest thing. We have no limits. We can do anything we want, you know. So, it’s fantastic. I mean, that’s why people love fashion is because it makes them feel beautiful and it’s always different."
