BB&T Atlanta Open wants to thank the fans in 2014

Each year, tennis fans in Atlanta, and the Southeast, show their appreciation for having a ATP World Tour 250 event right in their backyard by turning up in droves to cheer on the best tennis players in the world.

This year, the BB&T Atlanta Open wants to thank its loyal patrons.

Not only is the Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series event expecting its best field in history, tournament organizers are planning a series of fun, fan-friendly special events that will take place daily throughout the tennis week at Atlantic Station, July 19-27.

“Each year, we strive to produce a variety of special events that add to the fun, family-oriented atmosphere of the tournament,” says Eddie Gonzales, Tournament Director. “We are excited to unveil daily events, such as the Yacht Rock Revue post-match concert, College Night and fireworks, to coincide with the world-class tennis played at Atlantic Station. We encourage Atlanta and its surrounding residents to join us in making memories at this year’s tournament.”

So in addition to the world class tennis, here is what tennis fans can expect on each day of the tournament:

Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20 – Kids Weekend

Kids Weekend is a great idea as kids 18 years of age and under will attend the day’s matches for free, when accompanied by an adult with a Saturday or Sunday ticket. The BB&T Atlanta Open is all about getting kids involved in tennis.

Monday, July 21 – Opening Ceremonies & Military Night

The Opening Ceremonies, along with Military Day, will take place on Monday. The event includes the Honor Guard, an Army Band from Fort Benning and local dignitaries to go along with the start of the main draw matches.

Tuesday, July 22 – College Night

Bring a date! Buy one ticket and bring your significant other for free. This two-for-one special is for college students with valid IDs who buy the ticket right at the tournament. Wear you school colors- whether it be Bulldog red or Georgia Tech gold. Cheer and have some fun!

Wednesday, July 23 – Yacht Rock Revue - Gas South Sponsored Post-Match Concert

Gas South presents a post-match concert by Yacht Rock Revue right on the Stadium Court. Yacht Rock Revue is a popular band that plays the best of ’70s soft rock, including the music of Hall & Oates, Kenny Loggins, Madonna, and more.

Thursday, July 24 – USTA Member Appreciation Day Presented by THOR•LO/ALTA Night

USTA Georgia hosts and it's sponsored by THOR•LO. ALTA Night will offer giveaways, Junior Challenge Ladder special recognition and a Run/Roll exhibition. Come on out!

Friday, July 25 – Ladies Day & Fireworks

All sorts of fun is planned on Ladies Day. Get a VIP package that includes an ATP player clinic and lunch at Strip. Try the BB&T Ball Toss competition on Stadium Court with the winner taking home a $200 BB&T Visa gift card. Fireworks take to the sky after the night session.

Saturday, July 26 – Fan/Volunteer Appreciation Day & Saturday Night Social Sponsored by SVEDKA

Thanks to all our Fans/Volunteers on this Appreciation Day. The tournament will recognize the loyal attendees and volunteers. The Saturday Night Social is presented by SVEDKA and will offer drink specials and special gate giveaways.

Sunday, July 27 – BB&T Champions Day

It's "Finals Sunday" and the BB&T Champions Day will showcase the tournament’s successful tennis players who have reached the singles and doubles finals, The event will also honor local champions, from all walks of life.
