A music celebration slated for Wednesday, Feb. 6, thru Saturday, March 16, in Key Largo features a lineup of blues stars, the likes of which has never been seen in the Upper Keys before. Robert DiGiorgio, owner of Bayside Grille and Sunset Bar at mile marker 99.5 bayside, is hosting an elite group of international blues stars over a six-week period. “This outstanding event brings live entertainment from some of today’s greatest blues stars to our community,” he said. Among the stars are: the JW Jones Band, Harper & Midwest Kind, Biscuit Miller & The Mix, Todd Wolfe, Joel DaSilva & Midnight Howl, the Rockin’ Jake Band, Braille Blues Daddy Bryan Lee, a New Orleans guitar legend, and the Blues Power Band.

Incredible artists are bringing a wonderful, deep and rich musical history, said DiGiorgio. “For example, Todd Wolfe has been lead guitarist for Sheryl Crow and Carla Olson and his original songs have been covered by such great artists as Faith Hill and Stevie Nicks. Joel DaSilva’s résumé includes performances with heavy hitters like B.B. King, A.C. Reed, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Reverend Horton Heat and he has been the opening act for J.J. Grey, Nick Curran, the Smithereens, Foghat, Los Lobos, The White Stripes, The Black Crowes, Nighthawks and Jimmie Vaughan.”

JW Jones kicks off the Bayside Bluesfest Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 6-7, at 6:30 p.m. “The idea began last year in January when the JW Jones band performed at Bayside Grille. The response was overwhelming and we knew we needed to get them back,” DiGiorgio added. Currently on an international tour for their album "Seventh Hour," the JW Jones Band, Canada's top touring blues act and a personal favorite of Elwood Blues, aka Dan Ackroyd, is back.

The Bayside Blues Festival offers a unique cultural experience and the opportunity for music lovers to enjoy music and stories that surround the music. The music ranges from yesterday’s great traditional sounds to some of today’s most innovative, but still fundamentally blues tunes.

The event is sponsored by DiGiorgio’s Café Largo and Bayside Grille and will be held at their location in downtown Key Largo at 99530 Overseas Highway, Key Largo.
