On Tuesday afternoon, vocalist Nick Pitera uploaded a new video to his YouTube account, a cover of him singing "Let Me Be Your Star" from NBC's series, "Smash." In the video, which can be seen below, Pitera's wide range and falsetto allows him to harmonize with himself via split-screen. Pitera, 26 years old, works as an animator for Pixar Studios in Emeryville.
Pitera has over 100 videos of him covering a wide variety of songs, and he first went viral with his rendition of "A Whole New World" from "Aladdin," singing the parts of both Aladdin and Jasmine. Pitera also has original works, including his single, "Better Days," which was released on iTunes in December.
NBC's musical drama "Smash" began airing its second season February 5. The large-ensemble series revolves around the creation of a new Broadway musical about Marilyn Monroe. The series often features singing and dancing, and has released two soundtracks, one from the first season and one of songs exclusively appearing in the show-within-a-show, "Bombshell."
Watch "Smash" on NBC Tuesdays at 10 P.M. Eastern/Pacific.
